Hilong Petroleum Pipe Company LLC, a subsidiary of Hilong Group, has signed a drill string supply contract worth approximately US$44 million with ADNOC Drilling Company PJSC (“ADNOC Drilling”).
Under the contract, Hilong Group will supply drill strings for 19 onshore and offshore drilling rigs operated by ADNOC Drilling over the next 12 months. The contract covers highly technically complex extended-reach drilling operations on the Upper Zakum artificial island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and includes the deployment of the world’s largest IoT-enabled drill string system.
By integrating RFID chips into Hilong’s premium-connections and high-sour-service drill string products, the project will enable full life-cycle management of drill string assets, improve inventory utilization and turnover, and provide data support for predicting drill string service life. These capabilities will enhance product traceability, support the full digitalization of oilfield operations, and establish a foundation for the future application of artificial intelligence technologies.

ADNOC Drilling is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and provides integrated upstream services across conventional and unconventional oil and gas fields.
